After talks with the deputies of the parliamentary majority we were happy to learn that we have similar views regarding the necessity of the budget revision and it will be supported by coalition partners, Sanader told reporters after a ceremony marking the establishment of the international commission for the Sava river basin.
According to unofficial government sources, the Government is expected to forward the draft budget revision to parliament at this afternoon's telephone session. Parliament should voice its opinion about the draft by mid July, namely by the end of its regular session before a summer recess.
The Government and its social partners discussed the draft budget revision at a meeting yesterday, and today it was supported by the HDZ's coalition partners.
Sanader said that coalition partners also discussed a package of election laws and some already drafted proposals would be sent to parliament into first reading.
We will not rush it, local elections have passed, Sanader said.
Apart from the prime minister and several ministers, today's meeting of the HDZ and partners was also attended by the leadership of the HDZ and all coalition partners, except the Pensioners' Party.
