ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - Nenad Tuskanac, a Croatian police officer
deployed in the UN Mission to Cyprus since February, has been appointed head of
the UN police station Dhernya, the Croatian Interior Ministry said on
Tuesday. "This is the first time that a Croatian police officer has
been appointed to such a responsible post, which points to the good work of the
Croatian police within UN peace missions," ministry spokesman Zlatko Mehun
said.
There are only two Croats in the UN Mission to Cyprus, which numbers
some 60 officers in seven police stations. Liaison officer Mladen Vrtaric is
the other Croat in Cyprus.
