During his ten-day tour of North America, Jelincic visited Croats in New York, Mississauga and Toronto.
In Chicago he was present at the 39th festival of Croatian Tamburitza organised by the Croatian Fraternal Society. The event featured 28 bands with a total of 800 performers from the United States and Canada.
On this occasion, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley sent letters of congratulations.
Jelinicic informed American and Canadian Croats of the Foundation's plans to open a museum focusing on the Croatian Diaspora in Zagreb in 2007.
