Under the agreement, the HDZ will appoint county prefects from within its ranks in Sibenik-Knin, Zadar, Dubrovnik-Neretva, Vukovar-Srijem, Pozega-Slavonia and Slavonski Brod-Posavina counties, with deputy prefects coming from the HSP.
In the eastern city of Slavonski Brod, the new mayor will be an HSP representative, HSP leader Anto Djapic told reporters on Wednesday. He added that the agreement marked the completion of negotiations on coalitions between the HSP and the HDZ. This right-wing party will continue to negotiate on possible coalitions with other parties.
HDZ spokesman Ratko Macek said on Wednesday evening that his party was satisfied with the course of negotiations and the number of coalitions it had formed with other parties after the recent local elections.
