ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - The meeting between Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte, scheduled to take place in Zagreb on Thursday, will prove that Croatia is implementing its action plan for the arrest of General Ante Gotovina and fully cooperating with the tribunal, a Croatian government spokesman said on Wednesday.

"The results of the talks will show that Croatia is implementing the points of the Action Plan and fully cooperating with the Hague tribunal," spokesman Ratko Macek told Hina over the phone.

Macek confirmed that Sanader had received a report from the Counter-Intelligence Agency (POA) on an incident regarding the alleged arrest of Gotovina in Italy, during which a suitcase with press articles on the runaway general and clothes was found.

Macek avoided comment on the report from Italy and declined to speak about President Stjepan Mesic's optimistic statement that after Del Ponte's visit Croatia's position would be completely different than it was now.

During a visit to the National University Library in Zagreb today PM Sanader told reporters he would address the public after tomorrow's meeting with Del Ponte.

Del Ponte and Sanader are scheduled to meet at 5 pm in the government headquarters, after which they will hold a joint news conference at 6 pm.

Del Ponte's visit is part of a working visit to the region which she is making before she submits her regular semi-annual report to the UN Security Council on June 13.

Before she visits Croatia, Del Ponte will visit Belgrade on Thursday morning, where she will meet top officials of Serbia and Montenegro and of Serbia.

On Friday, June 3, Del Ponte will visit Sarajevo to hold talks with High Representative Paddy Ashdown and NATO and EUFOR commanders.
