ZAGREB, May 25 (Hina) - Franjo Katavic, suspected of forging the passport for the fugitive general Ante Gotovina, on Wednesday reiterated before an investigating judge that he had forged travel documents not only for the general but also for the fugitive businessman Hrvoje Petrac. The other two suspects, believed to be involved in the forging, lawyer Marijan Pedisic and retired police officer Salih Fazlic, again refuted any involvement in the crime.

Zagreb County Court investigating judge Zdenko Posavec today also interviewed a former director of the Intelligence Agency (OA), Damir Loncaric, given that new investigative measures were requested by the Zagreb Municipal Prosecutor's Office.

Loncaric declined to speak to reporters today, but according to some sources, he told the judge that he had no knowledge of Petrac's falsified passport, which was the main topic of today's interview.

New investigative measures have been requested to establish how Petrac obtained the forged passport, as well as who made it and at whose request.

At their last interview on May 12, Pedisic and Fazlic any connection with the forgery of the passport for the runaway General Ante Gotovina, while Katavic admitted having committed forgery in that case, as well as in the case of the fugitive businessman Hrvoje Petrac, who is wanted for involvement in the kidnapping of retired General Vladimir Zagorac's teenage son.

According to a source from the Zagreb County Court who spoke on condition of anonymity, Katavic today repeated that he had forged passports for Gotovina and Petrac at the request of retired police officer Fazlic and attorney Pedisic.

Pedisic and Fazlic today again dismissed all allegations about their involvement in this criminal act.

Leaving the court's building, Pedisic said that he had no connection with the act with which he was charged. "This is a dirty lie," he added.

Fazlic's lawyer, Rajko Coguric, also told reporters that his client denied having committed the crime.

The investigating judge said that most of the investigation had been completed with today's questioning. Experts will now examine Petrac's forged passport which has been confiscated by the Austrian police.

The experts should establish whether the passport issued in Petrac's name was forged by machines found in Katavic's flat.
