"In the post-election period, some individuals and representatives of political parties or coalitions have often pointed their fingers at the media and journalists, blaming them for their parties' poor election results," said a statement issued HND organisation in Sisak-Moslavina County.
"This form of pressure must stop," the statement said.
The county branch of the HND issued its reaction following the statement by the president of the Civil Party from Sisak, Bozidar Pintaric, who said Jutarnji List daily reporter Koraljka Djetelic was to blame for the poor results his party achieved at the local elections held on 15 May. Djetelic is also the president of the HND Sisak-Moslavina County branch.
"Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case, which is why we want to reiterate our regret about the fact that individuals and political parties or coalitions are trying to win media space using undemocratic means," the executive committee said in the statement.
