ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - The Croatian National Bank Council on Wednesday considered the latest economic and monetary trends, adopted annual report on the performance of the central bank and the Croatian Monetary Institute in 2004, the bank said in a press release.

The beginning of the year was characterised by a slower economic growth, a higher inflation, the continuation of appreciation pressure on the exchange rate, the higher liquidity in the banking sector, and the state's short-term debt to cover the discrepancy between the trends of budgetary revenue and expenditure.

The session was chaired by Deputy Governor Boris Vujcic.
