So far 34 municipal courts have digitalised the land books, and by the end of this year all 87 courts in the country should do the same, Justice Minister Vesna Skare Ozbolt said during a ceremony of presenting land books in the digital format in the Zagreb Municipal Court on Wednesday.
Land books in paper form will be repaired and archived.
The minister believes that the availability of land books on the Internet would help reduce the corruption and inefficiency of the administration as well as enhance legal security in the real estate sector.
Prime Minister Ivo Sanader assessed this as a historic moment, adding that digitalised land books were a part of the government's One Stop Shop project.
