An investigation request was filed by the County Prosecutor's Office more than a month ago, alongside a detention request and about 100 pages of archive material about the activity of the Pozega police in 1941-2, when its chief was Asner, County Court judge Berislav Devcic said on Wednesday.
The decision on the investigation may be appealed within three days.
Asner's residence is unknown. Charges against him were pressed in mid-2004 by Efraim Zuroff, executive director with the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, following a research by a young Pozega resident, Alan Budaj, on the plight of the Jews in the Pozega area in 1941-2.
