The association also elected two new vice-presidents for the regions of northern Backa and Srijem and new members of the Executive Committee.
There was a rift in the leadership of this association at the last convention, which resulted in the resignation of the first HNV president Josip Ivanovic and his deputies.
Croatia's consul general in Subotica, Davor Vidis, said it was significant that the situation in the HNV had stabilised and that the association now could join in the implementation of an agreement on the mutual protection of national minorities signed by Serbia and Croatia.
