SKOPJE, April 3 (Hina) - The news of the death of Pope John Paul II hasbeen received with sadness and sympathy in Macedonia. Requiem servicesfor the pope were held in all Catholic churches on Sunday. Musicevents were cancelled and the
media changed their airing schedule.

II has been received with sadness and sympathy in Macedonia. Requiem services
for the pope were held in all Catholic churches on Sunday. Music events were
cancelled and the media changed their airing schedule. Postponing an
event marking the 56th anniversary of NATO, Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski
said that Macedonia was joining the Catholic community in mourning the death of
the great man and humanist Pope John Paul II.
A large number of Catholic and Orthodox believers gathered in the
Church of the Most Holy Heart of Jesus in Skopje to attend a requiem mass for
the pope.
