Slovak diplomats contacted Hina today to deny a report issued by the Austrian news agency APA about Slovakia having changed its mind about support to Croatia to join the countries that were against the opening of the talks on Thursday.
"Slovak Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan resolutely supported Croatia," spokesman Juraj Tomaga said.
"The report by the Austrian news agency is incorrect," and Slovakia has asked APA to correct it.
Slovakia's unreserved backing to Croatia's ambitions to start the entry talks on 17 March was expressed during Prime Minister Ivo Sanader's visit to Bratislava last week.
