ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesdaypresented Norwegian professor Orjar Oyen with the Order of theCroatian Morning Star with the Image of Rudjer Boskovic for hiscontribution to the promotion of
Croatia's international position andthe promotion and development of the Interuniversity Centre inDubrovnik, the President's Office said in a statement.
ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesday
presented Norwegian professor Orjar Oyen with the Order of the Croatian Morning
Star with the Image of Rudjer Boskovic for his contribution to the promotion
of Croatia's international position and the promotion and development of the
Interuniversity Centre in Dubrovnik, the President's Office said in a
statement."Croatia and Dubrovnik will never forget what you did during the
Homeland War, when you selflessly helped inform international university and
other circles about the war in Dubrovnik," Mesic said, stressing Oyen's
contribution to the international promotion of the Interuniversity Centre.
Thanking for the decoration, Oyen said that his scientific cooperation
with Croatia was established more than 30 years ago, when he became acquainted
with the work of his colleague and a member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences
and Arts, physicist Ivan Supek.
Norwegian Ambassador Knut Toraasen said the decoration was a great
honour for Norway and an encouragement to the excellent relations between the
two countries, the statement said.
