ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - The Ministry of the Environment, Regional
Planning and Construction said on Wednesday that the open letter by the
non-governmental environmental organisation Eko Kvarner of February 19 in
connection with the work of a commission assessing the environmental impact of
the Druzba Adria oil pipeline project was "unacceptable and tendentious"."This organisation gives itself the right to doubt the professional
qualifications and credibility of commission members, attacks the work of the
commission and some of its members without foundation, and gives judgement on
what is professional in its study and what is not," the ministry said in a
statement.
The statement said that the commission, consisting of 25 experts
appointed by relevant institutions, should be ensured unobstructed work, and
that the ministry would give its judgement on the study only after the
commission completed its work.
