Irish citizens interested in buying real estate in Croatia

DUBLIN, Feb 19 (Hina) - The interest of Irish people in purchasing realestate in Croatia is increasing.
DUBLIN, Feb 19 (Hina) - The interest of Irish people in purchasing real estate in Croatia is increasing.

Last year Irish citizens purchased 600 houses in Croatia.

National and local newspapers in Ireland advertise real estate in Croatia. The advertisement includes photographs of the facilities. Irish real estate agencies follow the trend by organising presentations about Croatia for potential buyers. The presentations, namely exhibitions at which potential buyers can be introduced to the beauties of Croatia, are usually held in prestigious hotels in Ireland and are attended by some 100 interested buyers.

The high season for such presentations is February and the first half of March. Croatian agencies do not yet have a possibility to introduce this form of buying real estate, so Irish agencies usually charge them 40 percent of the price of estate for their services. For example, in Irish agencies the price of one square metre of flats along the Adriatic cost is EUR2,200, while the same real estate can be purchased through Croatian agencies for EUR1,600.

Irish tour operators say Croatia is a tourist destination that is becoming more popular everyday. This February reservations for this summer in Croatia increased by 60 percent in relation to last year.
