Commenting on reports that the crew of the plane were in some kind of detention in Gabon, the manager of the Sarajevo-based "Arnoro" company, Zoran Vuckovic, said the reason for the incident was irregular payment of the lease by the Canadian company, which caused a delay in the payment of the crew's salaries.
"This simply prompted a nervous reaction on the part of the crew," Vuckovic said, dismissing reports that the plane or the crew had been kidnapped.
He confirmed that the aircraft and its crew were under protection by armed persons, but added that this was due to general lack of security in Gabon.
The contract with the Canadian company, which sub-leased the plane to Air Max Gabon, will be terminated in the next 24 hours and the plane will return to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vuckovic said.
