Ljubicic spoke to Pavcevic in the evening. Pavcevic said he had just been notified by a Croatian driver in Iraq who told Zlatko that his father had died in his arms in the evening of February 7, said Ljubicic.
There has been no confirmation of Pavcevic's death though diplomatic channels yet. The Foreign Ministry is trying to find which hospital the body is in and will then organise its transfer to Croatia.
The first Croatian driver killed in Iraq, where he was transporting goods for US troops, was Dalibor Burazovic. He was killed near Mosul last October.
Ljubicic today had no news of another Croatian driver in Iraq, Zoran Sirocic, who has been detained in a US investigation centre in Falluja following a fight with the marines.
