The Council heard reports from the heads of relevant state bodies and the Chief Public Prosecutor on the steps that have been taken in order to find and arrest fugitive Croatian Army General Ante Gotovina, who is wanted by the Hague war crimes tribunal.
"The intensive operations continue with a view to achieving full cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague and tracking down and arresting retired General Ante Gotovina," the statement said.
The session was preceded by a meeting of the coordinating bodies of the Ministry of the Interior and the security agencies, and a meeting of the Council for the Coordination of the Security Service.
