The even, organised in co-operation with VIPnet and the Association of Patrons of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, was supported by the organization of the Vienna Opera Ball, Vienna State Opera
The programme had three parts. Waltzes, polkas and opera arias composed by Johann Strauss the Younger (Tales from the Vienna Woods, The Bat, Trich-Trach polka, The Blue Danube), Johann Strauss the Elder (Jelacic March), Josef Strauss (Diplomatic polka), Franz von Suppé (Light Cavalry), Franz Lehár (The Land of Smiles) and Blagoje Bersa (The Idyll) will be performed by opera soloists, ballet ensemble, choir and orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and the pupils of the School for Classical Ballet.
The ball was attended by some 800 guests, mostly diplomats, Croatian businessmen, culture officials and public figures, who paid between 188 and 37,000 kuna for tickets.
All the revenues will be spent for the additional education of young opera singers.
