"We talked on the phone this morning to discuss some joint tasks. We agreed that President Mesic and the Foreign Minister should attend a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp," Sanader told reporters after meeting leaders of parliamentary parties.
Sanader said that one of the topics of his meeting with Mesic would be Mesic's request to replace Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic, but he would not comment more on the matter.
Sanader expressed confidence that he would continue to cooperate with the president as he had done so far, and that Mesic would continue to act the way he had acted so far because of his constitutional obligations.
Commenting on claims that Mesic would support the opposition in the upcoming local elections, Sanader said such reports were echoes of the presidential campaign.
