There were threats unless I agree to a compromise, namely abandon the idea of establishing such a commission in exchange for HDZ's dropping the idea of establishing a similar parliamentary commission of inquiry for Radimir Cacic and Zlatko Tomcic, Lesar told a news conference in the Croatian parliament.
"I am not scared of threats," Lesar said and added that his party would continue to insist on the establishment of all four parliamentary commission of inquiry which are added to the agenda of the coming parliamentary session.
Government spokesman Ratko Macek said there was no need to comment on this statement.
Lesar believes it is necessary to establish a commission to investigate the business dealing of companies owned by Radimir Cacic (HNS official) and Zlatko Tomcic (Croatian Peasant Party leader), moved by the HDZ, and end the speculation, which is always raised in election time, whether Cacic is in conflict of interest
The HNS also insists on the establishment of a commission which would establish facts in selecting the third mobile operator and one for the work of the Counterintelligence Agency (POA).
