BELGRADE, Jan 15 (Hina) - The chief of the Organisation for Security
and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, Maurizio
Massari, has said Serbia's authorities should no longer delay with solving the
issue of cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal, cautioning that
cooperation so far has not yielded the results required for admission to the
European Union.Speaking at a round-table debate in Belgrade on Saturday on a national
consensus on Serbia's future in Europe, Massari recommended that the
authorities in Belgrade set deadlines to deal with the issue of cooperation
with the UN court.
He said the cooperation was a political requirement which must be met
and voiced confidence that if the issue was resolved, the EU admission process
could be accelerated considerably.
Massari said Croatia was a good example in that respect and said the
OSCE was willing to continue helping Serbia and Montenegro in the process.
