"Let us show our strength and unity for Croatia's benefit, for a better tomorrow and better living standards," Kosor said.
"We need a president who will not apologise to the aggressor and who has not forgotten the merits of the first Croatian president, Franjo Tudjman, and Croatian soldiers in the establishment of an independent, free and democratic Croatia. We need a strong president, who will not bow to anyone and will welcome everyone with a smile."
Addressing the rally, HDZ leader and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader called on voters to vote for Kosor and not those, he said, who keep changing their opinions. "We are electing our first woman president on Sunday," he added.
The rally, which took place in the central Ban Jelacic Square, was attended by several thousand people, including the highest parliamentary and government officials and HDZ leaders.
