Protesters were displaying banners reading "Out With the Serbian Army" and "Stop The Violence Against Albanians". The protesters demanded the demilitarisation of Presevo Valley and the deployment of international military and police forces in that area mostly populated by Albanians. They also requested that more border crossings with Kosovo and Macedonia be opened. The protesters demanded that a joint assembly of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedje be held so as to discuss the political and security situation in Presevo Valley,
Albanian political leaders from Presevo Valley present at the protest most vehemently condemned the murder of the Albanian boy.
The protest in Presevo ended peacefully in the presence of strong Serb police and military forces,
The Serb authorities said that the young Albanian was killed while trying to illegally cross the border with Macedonia.
