The amendments ensure greater independence of this financial institution, and the parliament will no longer approve but only express its position on the HNB statute.
The HNB Council, whose members were appointed this summer in the parliament, will remain the same until Croatia's entry into the European Union.
The current council consists of the bank governor, his deputy, five vice-governors and external members.
The new HNB council will be professionalised with the governor and eight vice governors sitting on the board.
The amendments have paved the way for legal frameworks for the introduction of the euro in Croatia as soon as conditions are met.
MPs also adopted a law regulating leasing activities.
A law on animals protection was also passed.
Several international treaties were ratified making it possible for the inflow of the European Communities' funds for the adjustment of the national tax system, employment incentives and for financing the second stage of the construction of the Rijeka-Zagreb highway.
The 23rd parliamentary session was adjourned until next week.
