BERLIN/ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - Some 200 German economists, politicians and diplomats gathered at Croatian Economy Day in Berlin on Tuesday.

A Croatian delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec, presented the Croatian Government's economy strategy, projects and possibilities for investments in the Croatian Economy.

Croatian Economy Day was organised by the Croatian Government, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the federation of German chambers of industry and commerce and the German-Croatian chamber of industry from Zagreb.

Germany is one of Croatia's most important economic partners.

According to Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics, the two countries' trade from January to the end of September amounted to 3.04 billion US dollars. Croatia's exports to Germany totalled 769.8 million while imports from Germany amounted to 2.27 billion dollars.

After Austria, Germany is also the second biggest foreign investors in Croatia. According to figures from the Croatian National Bank, German direct investments in Croatia in the period between 1993 and 2006 amounted to 2.08 billion euros.
