The ambassadors were given a reception in the Bishop's Palace by the Bishop of Sibenik, Ante Ivas, and Mayor Nedjeljka Klaric.
"We have come to see to what extent and in what way we can ensure funds for the reconstruction of the Monastery of the Benedictines in Sibenik," Kaiser said, recalling that Switzerland and Norway had been involved in similar projects in Croatia, notably in the reconstruction of the parish church library in Skradin and the Dominican library in Dubrovnik.
The Norwegian government has co-funded the reconstruction of the primary school in the village of Golubic near Knin, some 40 kilometres inland from Sibenik.
The Benedictine Monastery dates back to the 16th century.
