"This will finally eliminate a disease in Croatian politics - the pre-election flexing of imaginary muscles by some parties," Pusic said.
Parties running in elections should compare their strength and support for their projects independently, she said, adding that the HNS was open to cooperation with parties such as the Peasant Party and associate parties.
Senior party official Radimir Cacic said that one of the main problems of all former governments, as well as the incumbent one, was the fact that they were established on the basis of political messages, deals and calculations, instead of programs, projects and people capable of implementing those projects.
"We believe that what the HNS is trying to do now is an important change and a step forward," Cacic said, adding that the party had drawn up programs and would make them public by next summer.
Pusic said that today's session of the HNS Main Committee would focus on the results of the party's election campaign launched a month and a half ago, and on the drawing up of programs for four areas which the party would focus on if it won the elections.
She said that the ratings of the party and its candidate for prime minister Radimir Cacic had already improved.
Answering a reporter's question, Pusic said that the party supported President Stjepan Mesic's initiative to punish war profiteers.
