"We are not planning to join in the campaign that soon, especially not in a campaign that is turned to the past. The case of Branimir Glavas and announcements that war profiteers must be arrested are elements of a campaign which is turned to the past," Jakovcic said.
"The old Croatia cannot be the main topic of the election campaign, only the new Croatia can," he said, adding that his party's election campaign would focus on the new Croatia.
He went on to say that his party would urge changes to the legislation on local and regional government bodies and the financing of those bodies.
The IDS is very open to talks with all centre and centre-left parties, Jakovcic said, confirming that the party had discussed cooperation with the Social Democrats, the Pensioners' Party, the Social Liberals, and the Peasant Party and that such talks were also possible with the People's Party.
