According to official results, 54.91 percent of the 6,639,385-strong electorate went to the referendum.
Of the total of all eligible voters, 53.04 voted for the highest state document.
In addition, 97,497 voters were against, and 25,866 cast invalid ballots.
For the constitution to be approved at the referendum, it was necessary that at least 50 percent plus one voter circled Yes (I.e. 3,319,693 voters).
Now it is up to parliamentary parties to agree when the new constitution will be officially promulgated.
