During the long friendly conversation, the two officials exchanged opinions on the current situation in the region, the state of affairs in Serbia and Croatia, and on their relations.
Prince Aleksandar informed Mesic that according to opinion polls, 28 percent of Serbians support the re-establishment of a monarchy, with 50 percent being in favour of the monarchy if they could be convinced that it is in the interest of their country.
According to a press release issued by the Belgrade-based Office of Prince Aleksandar, during his stay in Zagreb the prince will also meet dignitaries of the local Serb Orthodox church and local Jewish and Muslim communities.
His possible meeting with the primate of the Catholic Church in Croatia, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, cannot be held owing to Bozanic's trip abroad.
