SUBOTICA, Oct 21 (Hina) - The umbrella body of the Croat minority
in Serbia has left it up to the minority to decide themselves if they will vote
in an upcoming referendum on Serbia's constitution and to listen to their
conscience when deciding if they will support the draft constitution. The draft has big flaws in parts referring to the northern province of
Vojvodina and the exercise of national minorities' rights, Croatian National
Council (HNV) president Josip Pekanovic said in Subotica on Saturday.
He added, however, that the Croat minority wished to cooperate with
Serbia's state bodies and was confident the flaws would be eliminated with
special laws.
Lazo Vojnic Hajduk was relieved of duties as chairman of the HNV
Executive Committee and was replaced by Slavica Peic.
