ZAGREB, Nov 1 (Hina) - One of the best Croatian basketball players, Toni Kukoc, has partly denied speculations about his withdrawal from the NBA and professional playing.

"I do not know where the news has come from. I think, it is me who should decide on that. I have not made a final decision, as it is difficult for me to depart from something that means a lot to me," Kukoc was quoted by the Croatian Television as saying on Tuesday night.

In response to a question whether the audience will watch him in this NBA season, the 38-year-old Kukoc answered that "nobody knows it, but let's say no".

Kukoc wants to play this season only in Chicago Bulls.

A native of Split, Kukoc came to the NBA after an outstanding career in Europe. A three-time European Player of the Year, he led Jugoplastika Split to a European Championship in 1990. He spent the 1991-92 and 1992-93 campaigns with Benetton Treviso of the Italian League, averaging 19.9 points over the two seasons. He was also a member of the Yugoslavian Olympic team that won a silver medal at the 1988 Olympics, and he earned a second silver medal with the Croatian team in 1992 in Barcelona.

In the summer of 1993, Kukoc, whose nicknames are "Pink Panther", "Alien", "The Spider of Split", "The Waiter", and "Kuki", joined the the Bulls.

In the NBA he was proclaimed the sixth best player one season.
