The parliamentary Credentials and Privileges Commission today stripped Glavas of immunity at the request of the Zagreb County Court and the County Prosecutor's Office.
The Zagreb County Court is conducting an investigation into Glavas on suspicion of war crimes against civilians committed in Osijek in 1991.
After the Commission's decision, Zagreb County Court investigating judge Zdenko Posavec ordered remanding Glavas in custody.
Glavas told reporters that he was not responsible for what he was charged with and that proceedings against him were politically motivated.
"By defending myself, I am defending the values of the Homeland War and the dignity of Croatian soldiers who are today only used by some groups for political ends," Glavas said.
