SARAJEVO, Oct 3 (Hina) - Bosnian Serbs Mitar Rasevic and Savo Todovic, indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), were handed over to Bosnian authorities in Sarajevo on Tuesday, the State Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina confirmed.

Rasevic and Todovic were indicted for crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war. The Hague tribunal on May 31 decided that their case be referred to the State Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Under the indictment, which is yet to be adjusted to Bosnian legislation, Rasevic was head of guards in the prison in Foca, where during the war he was responsible for at least 37 prison guards.

Between April 1992 and August 1993, Todovic was a high-ranking official in the administrative hierarchy of the Foca prison.

The indictment alleges that both were responsible for the systematic torture of prisoners.
