The investigating judge also ruled that the suspects be remanded in custody for a month. The ruling was made after the County Prosecutor's Office requested an investigation into the six suspects.
The six members of the Independent Uskok Unit were arrested at the end of last week on suspicion of committing war crimes against Serb civilians in Osijek in late 1991 and early 1992.
They are suspected of war crimes against Branko Lovric, Radoslav Ratkovic, Milutin Kutlic, Alija Sabanovic and several other unidentified persons.
Without revealing the suspects' identity, police said that they had arrested five men and a woman.
