LUXEMBOURG, Oct 16 (Hina) - There is no political will in Serbia
to arrest Bosnian Serb wartime military commander Ratko Mladic, who is wanted
by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on
genocide charges, ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte said in Luxembourg on
Monday. "It's almost a smokescreen they are describing us and
showing us, it's no real political will and investigative will to locate and
arrest Mladic," Del Ponte told reporters after meeting the EU Troika, including
the foreign ministers of the current EU present Finland, the future president
Germany and Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn.
Del Ponte said she hoped the EU would reaffirm its decision to suspend
talks on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Serbia.
