OSIJEK, Oct 15 (Hina) - In its message ahead of World Food Day, which is observed on October 16, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation highlights the importance of investment in agriculture as the first step towards the long-term
sustainable economic development of society as a whole, which will eventually benefit the whole world, Croatian Food Agency Director Boris Antunovic said on Sunday.
OSIJEK, Oct 15 (Hina) - In its message ahead of World Food Day,
which is observed on October 16, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation
highlights the importance of investment in agriculture as the first step
towards the long-term sustainable economic development of society as a whole,
which will eventually benefit the whole world, Croatian Food Agency Director
Boris Antunovic said on Sunday. Following scientific developments
and their application to the food safety system, Croatia has adopted the Food
Act which is based on risk analysis and has established the Croatian Food
Agency as the central body for risk assessment in food for both humans and
animals, Antunovic said in the eastern city of Osijek on the occasion of World
Food Day.
The theme of this year's World Food Day is "investing in agriculture
for food safety".
