ZAGREB, Oct 13 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament resumed its 22nd
session on Friday with a debate on an annual report of the conflicts of
interest commission which in 2005 received some 30 complaints regarding
conflicts of interest, and carried out 16 investigations the results of which
showed that five officials were in conflict of interest. Commission
president Josip Leko said that the Commission's opinion that one official was
in conflict of interest had been confirmed by the Administrative Court, but
that the procedure was still ongoing.
Leko said it was the Commission's duty to raise public awareness about
the conflicts of interest issue and make state officials aware of their
obligations.
