Carrying placards reading "No to NATO in Lora" and "No to NATO in Croatia", Greens activists said that Croatia should choose a path of neutrality in its foreign policy.
"Respecting the important role NATO played in some moments of Croatian history, we believe that Croatia, exhausted by war, human suffering, destruction, unemployment and a low development rate, should direct all its resources at developing a society based on knowledge," the organisation said.
Protesters said they wanted to see Lora as a place of "green technology, clean industry and state-of-the-art software services" and that they wanted to "wage wars" with inventions and patents rather than with weapons.
