ZAGREB, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and European Integration was unable to either confirm or refute on Tuesday
evening that a Croatian driver was injured in Iraq, and the news could not be
checked with the Croatian Road Hauliers Association either. Jutarnji
List says in Wednesday's edition that a truck with Slavonski Brod, eastern
Croatia, licence plates, drove over a mine near the Iraq-Syria border.
The driver, allegedly from Beli Manastir, was injured and transferred
to a hospital, apparently in Baghdad, the daily says citing unofficial sources
among hauliers whose trucks drive for US troops in Iraq.
The incident allegedly occurred near Al Asad yesterday afternoon.
