Olekas, who is on a two-day visit to Croatia, added that Vilnius wanted to convey to Zagreb its experience in defence reform and integration with NATO and the EU.
The Lithuanian official said that he was satisfied with the cooperation between the two ministries, and underlined the importance of close cooperation in the NATO-led peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan where Croatian troops as serving in the Lithuanian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team in Chaghcharan.
Roncevic told reporters that Croatia was seeking support for the forthcoming NATO summit in Riga to send a strong signal that Croatia's membership of NATO is certain, and that Lithuania had promised to provide support.
Asked if Croatia would send additional troops to Afghanistan, Roncevic said that in 2007 Croatia intended to send up to 300 troops to serve in UN, NATO and EU-led peace missions.
Asked about an incident which happened on Friday, when six soldiers were injured in a field exercise on the Eugen Kvaternik Training Ground at Slunj, about 100 kilometres south of Zagreb, Roncevic expressed regret at the incident, but added that exercises would continue.
An investigation is under way, and so far it is not known what caused the explosion, the minister said.
