SPLIT, Sept 4 (Hina) - A NATO international military meeting on information and communication issues called "31st NDAG Meeting with Partners" began in the southern seaport of Split on Monday and will close on Friday.

The meeting was opened by defence state secretary Mate Raboteg. In attendance were representatives of 15 NATO and Partnership for Peace countries.

"We are developing a defence system which will ensure peace and stability for Croatia in the changed security environment. The defence system is being modernised gradually and the main goal is to make the Croatian Armed Forces fully compatible with NATO," said Ratoteg.

The Split meeting addresses the semantic interoperability of information and communication systems of NATO and Partnership for Peace member states in order to facilitate data exchange and transform data into information and knowledge, it was said.

Such military meetings are held three times a year, once at the NATO headquarters in Brussels and twice in NATO or Partnership for Peace member states.
