ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - The last Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev, will celebrate his 75th birthday in the Croatian coastal town of Sibenik on Saturday. The party will be attended by Several leading protagonists of world politics in the early 1990s.
ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - The last Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev, will celebrate his 75th birthday in the Croatian coastal town of Sibenik on Saturday. The party will be attended by Several leading protagonists of world politics in the early 1990s.

According to the organisers, the birthday party of the former Communist leader will be attended by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, several Croatian ministers, Israeli Defence Minister Simon Peres, former Polish President Lech Wales, Former US Secretary aof State James Baker, former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas, CNN CEO Ted Turner and other senior officials.

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, ex-German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and former State Secretary of the Vatican, Angelo Sodano, cancelled their attendance for medical reasons. George Bush Senior excused himself with a busy schedule.

The event is organised by the Mikhail Gorbachev foundation and the International Centre for Democratic Transition, under the auspices of the U.S. Senate and Vitezy's company Adriatiq Islands Group, which owns the Zora hotel in Primosten, the venue of the event.
