BRUSSELS, Sept 25 (Hina) - European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said in Brussels on Monday that a thorough institutional reform of the European Union would be necessary for further enlargement after the accession of Bulgaria and Romania.
BRUSSELS, Sept 25 (Hina) - European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said in Brussels on Monday that a thorough institutional reform of the European Union would be necessary for further enlargement after the accession of Bulgaria and Romania.

Speaking after meeting French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, Barroso said it would be unwise to continue enlarging further after Bulgaria and Romania joined without previously dealing with the issue of the European constitution.

Barroso said he personally wanted to see Croatia in the EU as soon as possible, after it met the required criteria.
