The meeting focused on future joint activities and the results achieved in the implementation of the Tempere programme adopted in 1999, when the European Council held a special meeting at which EU member states agreed to establish a region of justice, freedom and security in the European Union.
Lovrin and Kirin said in a joint statement that the informal meeting focused recognising court rulings, advancing judicial cooperation in criminal and civil suits, managing migrations and developing an asylum-granting system in the EU. The participants also talked about the fight against terrorism and organised crime, integrated external borders' management and the Schengen information system.
The Croatian ministers held a number of meetings including the one with the European Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner, Franco Frattini, who accepted their invitation to officially visit Croatia.
