The companies are mainly from the construction industry, electrotechnics, metallurgy and the engineering industry. Their presentation was financed by the German Economy and Technology Ministry.
Germany is one of Croatia's most important trade partners. Croatian exports to Germany in 2005 amounted to USD936.1 million, up 4.6 per cent from the year before, while Croatia imported USD2.75 billion from Germany, an increase of 7.1 per cent.
Exports to Germany accounted for 10.6 per cent of Croatian exports in 2005, while Germany accounted for 14.8 per cent of Croatian imports.
Croatian exports to Germany in this year's first seven months went up 13.5 per cent to USD611.5 million, while Croatia's imports from Germany amounted to USD1.8 billion, an increase of 11.4 per cent.
After Austria, Germany is the biggest investor in Croatia, accounting for 16.3 per cent of the EUR11.6 billion of foreign direct investment from 1993 through March 2006.
