The national air carrier recalled that its first commercial flight took place on 5 May 1991 from Zagreb to Split, marking the start of regular domestic flying. On 5 April 1992, Croatia Airlines began flying internationally, with the first such flight being from Zagreb to Frankfurt.
Since May 1991, the company has flown more than 5.25 million passengers on domestic flights, and since April 1992 more than 7.96 million passengers on international flights.
Some 1.77 million passengers have been logged on charter flights.
