PRISTINA, Aug 19 (Hina) - German General Roland Kather, who will take over the duty of KFOR chief commander on 1 September, is very familiar with the region, notably Kosovo, Pristina-based dailies reported on Saturday, adding that the
new KFOR commander had expressed hope that Kosovo's final status would be defined upon his leaving the post.
PRISTINA, Aug 19 (Hina) - German General Roland Kather, who will
take over the duty of KFOR chief commander on 1 September, is very familiar
with the region, notably Kosovo, Pristina-based dailies reported on Saturday,
adding that the new KFOR commander had expressed hope that Kosovo's final
status would be defined upon his leaving the post. German diplomat
Joachim Ruecker will assume the duty of UN Civil Administrator in Kosovo also
on 1 September, replacing Danish Soren-Jessen Petersen.
Another German is at the helm of important international missions in
Kosovo. Werner Wnendt has recently been appointed at the helm of the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission in
Kosovo.
